It’s really pretty simple. We have the greatest form of representative government the world has ever known and nothing gives me more satisfaction than to have you contact me for help. From driver licenses to unfair government practices to child custody concerns, I’m here to help. Please let me know how I can be your voice in state government!

What’s on your mind? Have a concern? Do you feel that the government isn’t working for you? Let me see what I can do to help, that’s what I’m here for. I represent YOU!

My Guiding Principles

Throughout my life, several principles have guided me including faith, family, and country.

As an elected official, I have found that the best decisions are made when they are based on sound principles of Liberty and Self Sufficiency. Here’s a list of other guiding principles:

  • Conservatism: I am a mainstream Conservative and believe that the less government we have, the better off we are to direct our lives in the “Pursuit of Happiness.”
  • Role of Representative Government: As your State Representative, I have never forgotten that I am NOT the Government, but that I represent YOU to the Government! We don’t belong to the Government…the Government belongs to us.
  • Uphold the Constitution: I have sworn an Oath to Uphold and Protect the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of the state of Utah. I take this very, very seriously; the most important part of the daily Legislative Session for me is the prayer and recital of the Pledge of Allegiance.

“The powers delegated by the proposed Constitution to the Federal Government, are few and defined. Those which are to remain in the State Governments are few and defined. James Madison, Federalist 45

  • Taxes: I voted for the recent $200 million tax cut, further state tax reductions on Social Security and the removal of state tax on Military Retirement. My goal is always to keep taxes as low as possible.
  • Federal Overreach: We must, with all of the force we have, push back on Federal overreach. We saw that exhibited in a hurtful and forceful way during the pandemic with the ordering of vaccinations for Federal workers and defense contractors supporting Hill AFB.
  • Proper Role of Government: Freedom is a rare and delicate plant. Government is necessary to preserve our freedom but too much concentration of political power is also a threat to our freedoms. We must be diligent in finding the proper balance and today, we are out of balance!
  • Civics Education is sorely lacking in our public education system and I have worked and voted for a better civics curriculum in our public schools.
  • Constituent Services: Nothing gives me greater satisfaction than to help a constituent with making government work for them from running and passing a bills to extend the statute of limitations for child sexual abuse or ensuring that Utah recognizes driver training and completion from other states. Many calls come for help with custody, child support, and domestic violence issues.
  • New Energy: I support smart, market-based transitions to New Energy. I do not support government mandates!
  • Air Quality and Climate are concerns that face each of us. I have worked hard to find solutions each Legislative Session as a Co-Chair of the Bi-Partisan Clean Air Caucus. Conservatives must not be afraid to discuss the impacts and solutions of a changing climate.
  • Education: I support, honor, and praise Teachers in public and private education. They are our hope and salvation to recover from the setbacks of the Pandemic. Children must be in the classroom and the Legislature has put in place smart policies to ensure that occurs! I support Parental Choice in Education. Parents must be in control of how, when, and where their children are educated.
  • Transgender Sports: I do not support transgender girls being allowed to play in public education-supported sports. This is unfair and not compassionate. I have voted in favor of bills to impose bans.
  • Critical Race Theory: We must ensure that school curriculum does not have ulterior motives such as Critical Race Theory. Let’s tell the truth but not taint it with systematic racism.
